Living Room

Since I lost my wife nine years ago – she had a stroke and was dead within nine days.  It was very sudden, she had been showing signs of recovery.

Some time, 12 months to two years later.  I was in the living room and I fell asleep in front of the telly. I’d turned the heating off and the TV off and was sitting there in the dark.  I was about to go to bed.  When I looked over to where the settee was, I saw my wife sitting there.  She was sitting on the end of the settee, looking straight ahead.  I rubbed my eyes and kept looking, rubbed my eyes again and looked and she was still sitting there. After a few seconds she disappeared.
